Dear Mom,

This is the letter I'll never write, the one that thanks you.

For all the time you spent teaching me and being ignored, dealing with floods, war, and earthquakes.

Those endless discussions and the endless silences.

Living with the mood swings and roundabouts. The hours of shouting and not saying a word.

The time spent picking up the bits and picking up the pieces.

The loss of sleep and lost hours.

For the years when you never saw my bedroom floor and the moment you finally got it back.

For all of this, thank you.
