Hong Kong will stage eight competition events, namely basketball (Men’s U22), track cycling, fencing, golf, handball (Men), rugby sevens, triathlon and beach volleyball, as well as one mass participation event, which is bowling. Besides, athletics marathon and road cycling events, which will be organised by Shenzhen and Zhuhai respectively, are being planned to run through Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao to showcase the integrated development of the three places.
The emblem for the 15th NG, the 12th NGD and the 9th NSOG encapsulates (概括) the themes of “prosperity and inclusiveness (包容)” and features three intertwining and rotating petals (花瓣) from the cotton tree, bauhinia (紫荆花) and lotus, each representing Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao respectively. The arrangement, inspired by the natural forms and hues (颜色) of these flowers, spirals (螺旋式上升(或下降)) around a central core, crafting a pattern reminiscent (使回忆起) of blooming fireworks. This artistic motif (图形) signifies not only the seamless (无缝的) integration and boundless vitality of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA) but also its flourishing impact on the global stage, bolstered (加强) by the strong support of our country.
The mascots for the 15th NG, the 12th NGD and the 9th NSOG are based on the Chinese white dolphin, which is the “Grade 1 National Key Protected Species”, also known as the “National Treasure of the Sea”. The two cute and adorable mascots are named “Xiyangyang” and “Lerongrong”, symbolising joy, harmony and unity.
“Play for the Dreams in GBA” is the slogan for the 15th NG, while “Dream for the Games in GBA” is the slogan for the 12th NGD and the 9th NSOG. Both slogans align (使一致) with the ethos (道德观) of the Olympic Movement, and Chinese cultural values and sports spirit. They reflect the essence of the times, the GBA and sports events, conveying emotional resonance (共鸣) through vivid language.
