Hello, everybody! And welcome to Let's Talk in English on PTS and the radio. My name's Gabe.

And my name is Andrea.Friends,we are still learning how to introduce ourselves and talk about ourselves.

That's right.And so let's introduce today's key words.The first one is:
spicy...spicy...I can't eat this dish.It's too spicy.

Talk someone into something...talk someone into something...I don't want to go shopping, but Tina talked me into it.

Husband...husband...Jenny introduced us to her husband,Frank.

Football...football...Jacob likes playing football more than just watching it.

Sport...sport...Rachel loves sports. Her favorites are football and basketball.

Now let's say these key words again. The first one is:
spicy...spicy...

Talk someone into something...talk someone into something...

Husband...husband...

Football...football...

Sport...sport...

And now it's time to go and see what today's mission is.Eddy?

Hello!

Yeah...yeah...Gabe,do you like to play football?

Well, yes,I do.I love to play football.

That's good.I don't.

Eh...really?Well,that's too bad.But we want today's mission.

OK,I...I know that one.Today's mission:What does Max ask Simon to look at?

What does Max ask Simon to look at?

OK,everybody.Keep your ears
perct to for the answer to today's mission in today's lesson as we go there right now.

[Conversation A]

Sara,Renee, you have to try this dish.

What is it?

It's our daily special for today.

But what is it?

It's a Mexican dish.

I'll try it.Wow...it's really spicy.

Let me try it!It's good,I like it.

Do you think other people will like it?

I'll try to talk them to trying it.

Everybody, this is a great conversation. We see that Max and Sara aretalking, and Renee is also there. And what are Max and Sara talking about?

Well, they're talking about Max's new dish.It is a Mexican dish.

It's a Mexican dish,it's the special for the day and Sara
triessome and says"it's really spicy".Now everybody, let's take a look atthis key word:spicy...spicy...Spicy food is food that is reallyhot,it's a flavour that is really hot.If you eat spicy food, your mouth feels like it's burning up or that is some fire, that's spicy food.

Yes,and spicy food is delicious, like Gabe says that it has a lot offlavour. Now you can say that something is spicy or that
dood it's hot,but you don't mean temperature hot,you nean it is hot with falvour.

That's right. And I like spicy food.Andrea,do you like spicy food?

I love spicy food.

But I don't like it
tastes too spicy. And Renee thinks that maybe other people will not like it either, butshe will try to talk them into it.Let's look at this key word:talksomeone into something...talk someone into something...If you talksomeone into something, that means you try to get them to do somethingthat you want.

If someone doesn't want to do something, but you really want them to do it,well...
then you talk them into doing it.

Andrea,can you give us the
dance of joy?

I...well,no...no!Gabe,I can't do that right now.

If you're a great dancer, please! I want to talk you into giving us the dance of joy...these students will love it.

Are you sure?

yes.

Ok,Gabe,you talked me into it.
Dance of joy...dance of joy...Oh...oh...

All right, thank you!And right now it's time for us to go and see
what Thomas is dancing about.

[Conversation B]

Maybe you can talk your husband into trying it.

Trying what?

Max's daily special!

No thanks.I'd like a hamburger with everything,Max.

Simon,you are so...so boring!

Simon,why won't you try Max's special?You might like it.

I don't want to.I feel like a hamburger.besides, I always eat a hamburger before I watch football.

Well,we are
introduced to Simon. He comes into The Diner and we learn of it about him.Now Gabe, how does Renee know Simon?

Oh,I know.I know the answer,OK!Simon is Renee's husband.

Bing, bing, bing! You just said a key word!

Well,that's great!Let's learn it.

It is great!Let's learn it.Husband...husband...Now if a man and a woman are married, then the man is the woman's husband.

Oh...he is the woman's husband.
And then so the woman is callde his what?

His wife!W-I-F-E!So if you're married, you are husband and wife.

Very good.So Simon is Renee's husband.

And we have another key word to learn. It is:football...football...Nowfootball is a sport. Many people get together to play football or towatch football on TV.

OK.So I should
explaining here a little bit.In football, there are two teams on a field. One team tries to throw or carrier keep the ball their field, and the other team tries to stop that team.

Wow,Gabe,you know a lot
of about football.Do you play football?

En...no!
What I read about it on Let's Talk in English.

Well, that's great!Let's keep learning more from Thomas.

[Conversation C]

Is there a football game on TV tonight?

This time of year, there's always a football game on.

So is football your favorite sport?

You know Simon doesn't have a favorite sport. He's crazy about all of them.

Haha...that's true.I love everything about sports.

Simon! My favorite handyman! Can you look at my oven? It's not working right.
