late/lately
Late 和lately均可作副词，但两者的含义不同。副词late与形容词late的意义相似，而lately只含“近来”之意。如：
My flight was an hour late.我那趟航班晚点了一小时。
She is late for work every day.她每天上班都迟到。
I haven’t heard from my father lately.我最近没有接到父亲的来信。
The couple had lately returned from America.这对夫妻不久前从美国回来的。
