yesterday,i learned the word reptile,and i crocodile and snack are belongs to reptile but not belongs to animal.

the teacher said ,in england,reptile is not animal.

但是我觉得从意思上来讲，爬行动物应该属于动物范畴的．

So what is the answer?

首先，楼主提出的单词里有错误，snake不是snack，snack是小吃的意思；在有句子里鳄鱼之前有个and I 少个谓语动词是不是know啊。

其次，我理解你们老师的意思，animal 在国外是动物的意思，这是广义词义；它的狭义词义是兽类，也就是哺乳动物。但是爬行类动物不属于哺乳类动物，只属于两栖类动物。

所以我认为这里的animal是个狭义词，但是你们的老师过于片面了，animal在为广义词的时候还是动物的意思。
