大家有没有发现，国内英文媒体在报道“台湾问题”时，都用的是这个词：Taiwan question。




可能有同学会问：为什么一定要翻译成“Taiwan question”，可不可以翻译成“Taiwan issue”？

答案是不可以。question和issue这两个词，虽然都可以表示“问题”，但还是有很大的区别。

Question和Issue的区别

先来做一下这三道题目：

A question is an inquiry, whereas an issue is the subject of that inquiry, often something with multiple sides that sparks debate or controversy.

“台湾问题”怎么译

再说回台湾问题。我们都知道，世界上只有一个中国，台湾自古以来就是中国领土神圣不可分割的一部分。

台湾问题属于中国内政，不属于有争议的国际问题。这一点是明确的，不具有商量余地，更不存在巨大争议，故而不能使用“issue”。

将“台湾问题”翻成“Taiwan question”是符合我国原则立场的表述。民族复兴、国家统一，是解决台湾问题的答案，也是人心所向、大势所趋。

台湾问题如何表态：

The Taiwan question is purely China’s internal affair that brooks no foreign interference. On issues concerning China’s sovereignty and territorial integrity and other core interests, China has no room for compromise.

台湾问题纯属中国内政，不容任何外来干涉。在涉及中国主权和领土完整等核心利益问题上，中方没有任何妥协退让余地。

One reads, "If Japan should dare to meddle in the cross-Strait situation, it would be an act of aggression and would definitely meet a firm response from China." 中国军方媒体账号 “中国军号” 周四晚间转发了两张外交部发布的图文。其中一张写道：“如果日本敢插手两岸局势，那将是一种侵略行为，肯定会遭到中国的坚决回应。”另一张写道：“日本必须停止在台湾问题上玩火。玩火者必自焚！”
