A viral social media post on Monday has sparked public outcry and an official apology from a theme park in Jining, East China's Shandong province.

According to the online post, a niece of the author was in the water play area of Glorious Orient when a performer, known as a Non-Playable Character (NPC), intentionally tried to hit her with a water bucket. The child reportedly avoided being struck.

The situation escalated when family members of the child approached the employee to discuss the aggressive behavior. During the ensuing argument, one of the family members suffered from a medical episode identified as respiratory alkalosis, a condition often triggered by stress or anxiety.

声明称，关于济宁方特外请演职人员在泼水互动环节中出现的不当行为，给相关游客朋友带来不良体验，济宁方特东方欲晓乐园在此深表歉意。

经核查，8月18日，一名由第三方合作公司提供的演职人员在泼水互动时，因个人原因与游客发生争执。

In response to the widespread attention the post received, the park issued a formal apology on Tuesday, expressing apologies for the "improper behavior" of an externally hired performer during a water-splashing interaction, which provided a "negative experience" for the visitors involved.

Their investigation confirmed that a performer, provided by a third-party contractor, had engaged in a dispute with visitors due to "personal reasons" during the interactive activity on Monday.

该公司称，事发后，工作人员第一时间对游客进行情绪安抚，并积极处理游客诉求。目前，已终止该演员所有演出安排，并作出清退处理。针对该事件，公司将对全体员工进行专项培训，重申并严格规范服务态度。

The park said staff immediately provided comfort to the affected visitors and actively addressed their concerns. The performer in question has been removed from all performing duties and dismissed. The park management has pledged to conduct specialized training for all employees to reinforce and strictly standardize service attitudes.
