The whole issue sparked after Esther's fans lashed out at her studio, accusing it of being "negligent" in managing her career, and focused their rage especially on her manager Li Jing.

As the situation escalated, Esther's studio released a statement on Weibo, stating that they have read all the concerns, and that they have the same goal as the fans.

"We will strive to secure the resources that she deserves and increase the number of liaisons as soon as possible to expedite the process," her management said.
