The US Ambassador to Japan will attend the memorial ceremonies in Hiroshima and Nagasaki this week, marking 80 years since the atomic bombings. The US Embassy says these will be his first visits to the cities since he took office in April.

This year, Nagasaki City has sent invitations to all countries and regions with diplomatic missions in Japan.
