A female passenger surnamed Hu recently shared her experience of receiving a "warm reminder" card from a railway policewoman while wearing a camisole dress on a high-speed train — a post that quickly drew praise and attention on Chinese social media.
Hu boarded train G2223 at Xuzhou East Station in a camisole dress. Shortly after, a railway policewoman approached and handed her a small card, saying, "Hello, ma'am, here's a little card for you."
Hu said the message didn't shift the responsibility of preventing harassment onto women or suggest dressing more conservatively. Instead, it felt like a thoughtful gesture that made her feel "warm and safe".
The card is part of a broader initiative by train police to improve passengers' safety and experience. A railway police department in Xi'an confirmed the practice, calling it one of several measures aimed at strengthening onboard security.
