近日，云南临沧云县女孩张镜，在割完牛草回家的路上，收到了北京大学的录取通知书。她今年高考成绩为670分，被北京大学中国语言文学学院录取。
Zhang Jing, a girl from Yun county, Lincang city, Southwest China's Yunnan province, received her admission letter from Peking University while on her way home after gathering cattle feed. With a gaokao score of 670, she has been admitted to the university's Department of Chinese Language and Literature.
她说：“我终于实现了自己的梦想，走出了大山，能看到广阔的世界。”
"I have finally realized my dream — I've walked out of the mountains and can now see the wider world," she said.
回想起查成绩时的心情，张镜至今记忆犹新：“我很激动，一开始查不到成绩还以为网卡了，往下滑才发现成绩已经被屏蔽了，当时手都是抖的。”
Recalling the moment she checked her exam results, Zhang said she remembers it vividly: "I was so nervous. At first, I couldn't see my score and thought the internet was lagging. Then I scrolled down and realized the results had been hidden because of the high ranking. My hands were shaking."
张镜在给大朝山学子们的一封信中自述：“我在7岁前的生活就是每天和妈妈上山采茶，日复一日。小时候天真烂漫，一瓶八宝粥便是最爱，大朝山便是全世界。开始了求学之旅后，从没出过大朝山的我，面对着高楼大厦感慨万千，原来这就是外面的世界。”
谈及未来的规划，张镜表示自己会先在北京好好读书，积累知识。未来，她仍希望能回到家乡，“从小在家乡长大，虽然出去求学，但家乡的情结一直都在，每次放假回家经过那个路口，就知道自己回家了。”
In a letter to students in her hometown, Zhang shared memories of her childhood — picking tea leaves with her mother in the mountains and believing that was the whole world. Seeing skyscrapers for the first time after leaving home, she realized how big the world truly is.
Zhang said she plans to study hard in Beijing but hopes to one day return to her hometown. "Every time I pass that familiar crossroads, I know I'm home," she wrote.
