The Animal Garden was established at Xuanwu Lake in Nanjing in 1928. After Japanese invaders occupied Nanjing, the garden was destroyed in the flames of war. It was rebuilt in 1954 and officially renamed Nanjing Hongshan Forest Zoo in 1998.
"We have many films and shows that commemorate the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression (1931-45). Like The Eight Hundred," said Zhang Yuan.
"Taiwan also had a film called Eight Hundred Heroes. I've also visited the Sihang Warehouse in Shanghai," said Hou Chia-wen.
