A: Hi Spencer, I thought we might talk about fashion a little bit. Could youdescribe to me your style or your fashion sense?

B: Well my fashion sense has definitely changed over the last decade. I waskind of recently out of uni and my uni years it was always every night I wantedto look superb. I even dressed up for class, it was, you know, thatwhatchamacallit a big university, but it was also a very old kind of universitywhere everybody dressed up all the time, very southern, very, you know, let'slook good for every kind of occasion. And since graduating from there, I have,you know, entered the real world and I only dress up for work or if I'm goingout, which I love dressing up for an occasion. But day-to-day I also love justthrowing on a t-shirt and jeans, what about you?

过去十年，我的时尚品味肯定发生了改变。我已经大学毕业了，上大学时每天晚上我都要让自己看上去很完美。上课时我也会精心打扮，要怎么说，我上的是一所大型大学，也是一所老式大学，所有人无论何时都会精心打扮，这就是南方的风格，就是不管是什么场合都要让自己看上去处于好状态。毕业以后我步入了现实世界，我只会在上班时打扮一下，或者是我要外出的时候，我喜欢为一个场合打扮自己。不过日常生活的话，我喜欢穿T恤和牛仔裤，你呢?

A: I think for me the most important thing is comfort. So my fashion sensehasn't really changed very much. I would still wear shorts and a t-shirt andsandals almost every day if I could. But because of my job I have to dress upfor work. But it's not really comfortable and I feel like it's not really me.Occasionally I do like to wear a suit but maybe once in a long while, not everyday.

对我来说最重要的就是舒适。所以我的时尚品味没有太大变化。如果可以的话，我会每天都穿短裤、T恤和凉鞋的。但是由于工作原因，我上班时不得不穿得正式一些。可是我觉得那样穿并不舒服，而且我感觉那都不是我了。偶尔我喜欢穿穿西装，不过是很长时间才会穿一次，而不是天天穿。

B: Yeah, it definitely after several, you know, weeks of kind of throwing onthe same day-to-day comfortable clothes, and you have one occasion that you goout for and dress up for, it does kind of feel like, you know, oh, I'm worth amillion bucks like, you know, looking great, one time you're wearing ... dressedto the nines, wearing all your best clothes.

A: Right. At the same time if I do dress up I want the most comfortableclothes I can get to dress up in, like I want shoes that look nice. But to me,looking comfortable looks nice. If I see people who don't look comfortable inwhat they're wearing I don't think they look very good. So sometimes I seepeople with really tall heels for example and people might say, "Oh, this looksso nice." But I just, I feel like they must be painful, it must be really hardto wear and to walk in.

没错。我在精心打扮时，我想穿上最舒适的衣服，我想穿上看上去很美的鞋子。对我来说，看上去舒服就是看上去很好。如果我看到有人的穿着看上去让人不舒服，那我就会认为他们的穿着不太好。有时我会看到穿很高的高跟鞋的人，其他人可能会说：“哦，这真好看。”可是我感觉那一定很痛苦，那一定很难穿，而且不方便走路。

B: That's so true, I hate heels, I cannot wear heels. Half of it's confidencethough, like I don't like being particularly taller than a lot of people, itjust kind of makes me unconfident. But every now and then like you see a reallytall person wearing a pair of heels, and you know, shoulders high like super,super confident and they look great. But also it is painful after several hoursof wearing heels if you're walking around a bit.

没错。我讨厌高跟鞋，我穿不了高跟鞋。虽然高跟鞋可能会让人觉得自信，可是我并不想比大多数人高，所以那反倒让我感觉不自信了。偶尔也会看到本来就很高的人穿高跟鞋，肩膀比别人都高就会显得超有信心，看上去的确很不错。不过如果要四处走动的话，高跟鞋穿几个小时就会令人很痛苦。

A: Right. Sometimes I find that with men's dress shoes as well, sometimesthey're really narrow and my feet are a little bit wide and so you get thesereally long and pointed dress shoes that narrow towards the toes. And because ofthat I have a very hard time finding dress shoes for myself. I have to do a lotof shopping to find a good pair.

对。我发现有些男生的鞋也很窄，我的脚比较宽，可是有些鞋是那种又长又尖的形状，尤其是脚趾那里很窄。所以我很难买到适合我穿的鞋。为了买到一又舒服的鞋，我不得不逛很长时间。

B: I got lucky, I have tiny feet, so every time I walk into a shoe store mysize happens to be the one that's on display.

那我比较幸运，我的脚很小，每次我去鞋店，我要穿的鞋号就是他们展示在那里的号码。

A: Oh, I see.

哦，我知道了。

B: And it's really quite good, yeah. Oh, that looks cute, I can just try iton then and there, so yeah, it is good.

这非常不错。“哦，那双鞋看起来好可爱”，那我就可以直接试穿，这很不错。

A: Yeah.
