近日有消息称，微信正在优化聊天记录备份的功能，支持U盘等多种存储设备。对此，微信方面回应称，正小范围测试聊天记录备份功能优化。

WeChat is testing an improved chat backup function, allowing users to save records to external devices like USB drives. The messaging platform said the feature is currently in limited testing.

微信表示，和当前仅支持备份到电脑相比，优化后的功能支持用户通过手机微信，将聊天记录备份到外部存储设备（如U盘、移动硬盘），且可创建及管理多份备份文件，并支持自动备份。目前，该功能更新在持续扩大测试范围。

This latest update supports multiple backup files and automatic backups via WeChat's mobile version, unlike the current PC-only backup option. Testing of this update is gradually expanding to more users, said WeChat.

聊天记录备份的具体路径是“微信设置-通用-聊天记录与迁移-备份与恢复”，如果你的微信在该功能的灰度测试范围，那么就会看到现在备份与恢复可以选择“备份到电脑、U盘等多种存储设备”或“支持自动备份”。

To access the feature, users can go to WeChat Settings > General > Chat History Backup & Migration > Backup & Restore. Eligible users will see options for external storage and auto-backup.



备份范围可以选择全部聊天或者指定聊天，也可以选择指定时间段。此外，用户还可开启自动备份，支持电量不足20%时暂停备份，以节省手机电量。

Backup options include full chats, selected conversations, or specific time periods. Auto-backup pauses if the phone battery drops below 20 percent.



据悉，目前暂不支持备份至iCloud云盘，也无法备份到NAS上，需要通过备份到U盘再转移。

The feature does not yet support iCloud or NAS backups. Transfer via USB is required for cloud storage.

目前该功能还在测试之中，已有部分iOS用户可以使用新功能，安卓端暂未开启。

Currently, only some iOS users can access this update, with Android support not yet available.
