"Palace Museum leak" became a trending topic online on Sunday. A heavy downpour in Beijing on Saturday caused rainwater to seep into the Palace Museum, sparking public concern after footage surfaced showing that the Ming Dynasty painting Dongyuan Tu (East Garden) may have been affected.
Museum staff promptly evacuated the area and temporarily closed the affected exhibition hall. By the afternoon of Sunday, visitors reported that the first section of the exhibition remained closed, while the other two halls were still open to the public.
When contacted by reporters, the Palace Museum's customer service staff did not confirm whether the closure was related to the leak, stating only that the situation was still under investigation.
