“600度” 一直都被作为高度近视的分界线，在多部眼科指南被单独划分列出。

The 600-degree mark is widely recognized in major ophthalmology guidelines as the borderline for high myopia.

为什么偏偏是600度？

一般情况下，正常人眼轴是24毫米，越近视眼轴长度越长，就像一个气球不停往里吹气，导致眼球拉长、视网膜变薄。一旦近视超过600度（眼轴长度≥26毫米），就很容易变成病理性近视，出现黄斑病变等眼部疾病，甚至失明。

A normal eyeball has an axial length of approximately 24 millimeters. As myopia worsens, the eyeball elongates — much like an overinflated balloon. Once myopia exceeds 600 degrees and the axial length typically reaches or surpasses 26 millimeters, the risk increases significantly for the condition to develop into pathologic myopia, which goes beyond simple blurry vision.

高度近视有哪些危害？

高度近视的危害性主要在于其并发症会随着屈光度的加深和年龄的增长而逐渐增多、加重。其病理学基础是，眼轴延长、血液循环障碍、营养不良、特异性组织变性等，主要包括：玻璃体病变、白内障、青光眼、黄斑病变、视网膜脱离和后巩膜葡萄肿。

因此，高度近视的人要尽量避免极限运动、举重、外伤碰撞等事件。还要注意视力的变化和眼部早期任何其他异常现象，比如闪光感、飞蚊症、视野缺损、视力进行性或突然下降、眼部酸胀疼痛等，如果出现，需要及时就医。

People with high myopia are urged to take extra precautions. Activities such as extreme sports, heavy lifting, or anything that could cause eye trauma should be avoided.

关于近视，有哪些英文表达呢？

❶ “近视”用英文怎么说

► myopia /maɪˈəʊpiə/ 近视

myopia来自拉丁语医学专业术语，现在也被用在英语医学专业术语中。但我们在日常表达中并不常用。

nearsighted /ˌnɪəˈsaɪtɪd/ 近视的

shortsighted /ˌʃɔːtˈsaɪtɪd/ 近视的

生活中，包括眼科门诊，人们常用nearsighted或shortsighted。

I'm extremely nearsighted/shortsighted.

我高度近视。

❷ “近视多少度”怎么表达

► diopter /daɪˈɒptə(r)/ 屈光度

英文中常用的表达眼镜度数的词是diopter，近视度数negative diopters，远视度数positive diopters。

配眼镜是一种医学行为，所以问别人眼睛度数的时候，可以说：What's your eyeglasses prescription?

如果想回答“我近视/远视400度”，可以说：I am nearsighted/farsighted with 4.0 diopters.

直接回答400度，可以只说4.0 diopters.
