you read so good, mountain spring. you can mark for me. but since i am still marking for you, i have to do some nit-picking here, sorry--- * gives: you read like gifts * nickle & dime: what did you read? nick and dime? * make ends meet: you said: make ends met * ask your boss for a raise: you said: ask a boss for a raise * got the axe: notice the way you read that 'the' * line you up: i am not sure if you should connect 'line' and 'you' great reading, 9.5/10. great job. could you consider to become one of the TAs? thanks a lot. |

Hi lazyoldcat, thank you very much for your time listening to my reading and providing suggestions. I really appreciate it. Well, for the last two, 'the' and 'line you up', the way I pronounced them is fine, I think. For American English, not differing the pronunciation of the word 'the' is acceptable. I will find the original example to make sure whether a connection is good. I didn't think it over before I read it;a connection is just a natural response when I came across these two words. Also, thank you for your offer to me as a TA. I would love to, of course. The only concern is that I cannot guarantee the availability for each class. |
