昨晚，很多市民在北京天空看见了“奇观”，大家纷纷发出疑问：这是什么？云吗？还是晚霞？话题“北京天空”更是冲上微博热搜第一。

在网友拍摄的图片上，有些只有一条光线，有些已经慢慢“晕染”开，形成一个螺旋上升的形状。

据北京日报记者咨询了气象专家得知，原来这是火箭云，是由火箭尾气所形成的。这种云的高度极高，往往在大气平流层以上，所以在刚刚入夜后低空较暗，而高空仍可以被太阳光照到，因此在晴空时很大范围地区的天空都可以看到。在较暗的背景下，这种云就更显得特殊和壮观。

Meteorologists have the answer: it's a "rocket cloud", formed by rocket exhaust. These clouds form very high up, above the Earth's stratosphere. After sunset, while the lower sky turns dark, these high-altitude clouds still catch sunlight. That's why on a clear evening, they shine brightly against a dark background — making the view extra stunning.
