Do the English speak English? 听了N遍之后，一直没搞明白这篇文章的立意是什么？ 搜索之…… 转载一篇博文： 《我在大不列颠的日子（四）英国人说英语吗？Do the English speak English?》 大家一看标题，以为我在讲新概念英语第二册第二十五课。不到英国去的人很难体会到这一点。文章中的那个人一到英国，首先那个porter 根本听不懂他说的，porter 说的他也听不懂，用他的话说就是“怎么和老师说的不一样？”的确， 我一下飞机很兴奋，在办移民手续时很顺利，因为那个移民官是中国人模样，根本不说英语，还和我开玩笑。很亲切吗！一出关，看见一个司机举着写着我的名字的牌子，我就走上前去，greeting 的话，咱们都没问题，因为每本口语书的前几课都学这个。一上车，司机很热情，开始滔滔不绝地和我聊天。天哪，这是英语？？？总共就听懂了一句，“I like driving.” 一路上，我强装笑脸，胡乱说yes. 终于熬到了酒店。这也算酒店？门小得连160斤以上的人都进不去。酒店里面运行李的升降梯像电影“虎口脱险”里那个指挥偷运食品的装置，很有意思。 前台是一个黑人女孩，说话能听懂一些，还是快。但她似乎听不懂我的意思，莫名其妙的看着我。最后终于猜出来了，找出了一堆预定单，让我挑，哪个名字是我。我的英语全白学了，原来面试我的人了解中国，说话速度也就是一般人的1/2。第二天去火车站，打车去的，下车管司机要收据，说Receipt, 就多发了一个p音，人家楞听不懂。到了车站，看着花花绿绿的告示牌，也不明白，到问讯处打听，人家说得飞快。赶紧说：“Pardon?” 人家重复了一遍，还是那么快。最后急了，求他说慢点，结果还这样。 好歹上了火车，在某一站停了一会，突然有广播，大家一听，全下去了。我急了，拉住一个老太太，问怎么了。她说，这个车不走了，要换另一个车，你跟我走吧，这才脱险。总算混到了Portsmouth. 这只不过是对语音语速的不适应，过了一段时间，就好多了。 但是，我说的这里是英国南部，说话是很标准的。后来到了伯明翰，才真正知道了厉害，伯明翰英语世界闻名。我第二次去读书，英语已经很好了，但是上了一年学之后，楞听不懂当地两个人之间的聊天，感觉很自卑。我一天问一个北京去的同学，他说一样。他住在一个修理摩托的技师家里。一天，技师的姐姐来了，两个人大聊了2个小时，他说只听明白了中心思想。伯明翰和很多中部城市，不要说发音，连说话的用语都不象英语。比如，Please come here 10 am bang on! 就是请十点准时到。 还有，Gis me the key. 就是给我钥匙。还有，Pub, Bus 等，u 发 u: 的音。年轻人很少说Thank you 了，都说Cheers! 或者Cheers mate! 咱们还没到苏格兰呢。。。那里的英语更牛！ 还有一个有意思的事，大家一听去英国上学，那就苦练英音吧。完全不那么回事！我给大家说说，我们的老师们，市场营销课是美国人，项目管理是伯明翰人，财物是印度人，金融是赞比亚人，导师是乌干达人。。。为什么？国际化了。 听不懂。。。？活该。上课时，有一个现象，就是中国学生的发音总比其他国的人好一些，但老师总听不懂，外国人说的英语，我们中国学生听不懂，但老师听得懂，为什么？因为我们说的方式和结构都太教条了，没准都是考研写作的句子。 总之，一个结论，口语就是实用实用再实用！ |

楼上文章转自：http://blog.sina.com.cn/s/blog_495c38c9010004ik.html 该文的评论一则，附后： 难与岁月pk2006-07-20 17:11:12 [举报] 喜欢博主的文章！ 只有热心而真诚的人才能把他的所有知识奉献给大家，博主就是这样的人，佩服你！希望能经常拜读到你的文章。 由于一直的工作关系，我经常接触世界上的各种朋友，当然很多都是讲英语的了。他们每一个人都讲着应该很标准口语结构的英语，但是当你第一次与他们对话的时候，却是那么难以一下子聊明白。我想起我大学同学（已经移民澳大利亚多年）说的：就算你的英语水平很高，讲的也是一口标准的铅字英语，假使你在美国呆了5年。但是你到澳大利亚来后，你也不会很容易和当地人沟通。说的很明了了，这让我在那以后与来自不同国度的各色老外接触时感触颇深。 英国人、美国人、德国人、中东人、印度巴基斯坦人、韩国人、日本人、新加坡人等等，，，就像大中国一样，地方不同，口音和方言及常用惯用语也有相当大的差异。 认识相当一些人，英语讲的确实相当铅字那样标准，但只见他/她滔滔不绝地讲，轮到他/她听的时候，就会感觉很尴尬，因为他/她不知老外所云啊。 所以，再学英语的时候，建议各位朋友尽量多和各国讲英语的老外们接触，广泛听取他们不同的有强烈地方语言口音和色彩的英语吧，那样你就会走遍天下无障碍了。 |

单纯从学习英语的角度上来讲：过年真的不是啥好事，背英语的感觉给过没了，郁闷啊！ 寻找往日的感觉，继续上路！ |

The railway station was big black and dark, I didn't know the way to my hotel, so I asked to porter. I not only spoke English very careflly, but very clearly as well. The porter however could not understand me. I repeated my question several times and at last he understood. He answered me, but he spoke neither slowly nor clearly. I'm a foreigner, I said. Then he spoke slowly. but I could not understand him. My teacher never spoke English like that. The porter and I looked at each other and smiled. Then he said something and I understood. You soon learn English, he said. I wonder. In England each person speaks different languag , the English understand each other. but I don't understand them. Do they speak English? |
