A woman came out of her house and saw three old men with long white beards sitting in her front yard. She did not recognize them. She said, “I don't think I know you, but you must be hungry. Please come in and have something to eat.” “Is the man of the house home?” they asked. “No,” she said, “he's out.” “Then we cannot come in,” they replied.

一个女人走出屋子，看到三个蓄着白胡子的老人坐在她的前院里。她不认识他们。她说，“我想我不认识你们，不过恐怕你们是饿了。请进来吧，吃点东西。”“你们家男人在吗？”他们问。“没有，”她说，“他出去了。”“那么我们就不能进来。”

In the evening when her husband came home, she told him what had happened. “Go and tell them I am home and invite them in!”

到了晚上，她丈夫回来了。她告诉他发生的事情。“去，告诉他们我回来了，请他们来！”

The woman went out and invited the men in. “We do not go into a house together,” they replied.

那女人就出去请他们进来。“我们不能一起进屋，”他们回答说。

“Why is that?” she wanted to know. One of the old men explained, “His name is Wealth,” he said pointing to one of his friends, and then pointed to another one. “He is Success, and I am Love.” Then he added, “Now go in and discuss with your husband which one of us you want in your home.” The woman went in and told her husband what was said. Her husband was very happy. “How nice!” he said. “Since that is the case, let us invite Wealth. Let him come and fill our home with wealth!” His wife disagreed. “My dear, why don't we invite Success?” Their daughter was listening to their talks. She said to her parents, “Would it not be better to invite Love? Our home will then be filled with love!”

“为什么？”她想弄明白。其中一个老人解释说他的名字叫财富他说着用手指着其中一个朋友，然后指着另外一个朋友说他是成功，我是爱。”接着他补充说:“现在进去和你的丈夫讨论一下，你们想要邀请我们中的哪个。”女人进去了，把老人的话告诉了丈夫。她丈夫非常高兴。“多好呀！”他说既然是那么回事，那咱们就邀请财富。让他进来， 咱们家就满是财富! ”他的妻子不同意。“亲爱的，我们为什么不邀请成功呢?”女儿在听着他们的谈话。她对父母说难道邀请爱不更好些吗？这样，我们的屋子就会充满爱！”

“Let us hear our daughter's advice,” said the husband to his wife.

“咱们听女儿的建议吧，”丈夫对妻子说。

“Go out and invite Love to be our guest.” The woman went out and asked the three old men, “Which one of you is Love? Please come in and be our guest.” Love got up and started walking toward the house. The other two also got up and followed him. Surprised, the lady asked Wealth and Success, “I only invited Love, why are you coining in?” The old men replied together, “If you had invited Wealth or Success, the other two of us would have stayed out, but since you invited Love, wherever he goes, we go with him. Wherever there is Love, there is also Wealth and Success.”

“出去邀请爱作为我们的客人。”女人出去了，问那三位老人你们哪一位是爱？请进来做我们的客人。”爱站了起来，开始朝屋子里走。另外两个在后面跟着他。女人很奇怪.就问财富和成功:“我只邀请了爱，为什么你们也跟着进来呢?”两位老人一起回答说如果你邀请了财富或成功，我们另外两个就要待在外面。但是因为你们邀请了爱，爱到哪里，我们就跟他到哪里。有爱的地方，也会有财富和成功。”
