Two huge explosions rocked the Lebanese capitalBeirut on Tuesday evening, killing at least 100people and injuring 4,000 others.

黎巴嫩首都贝鲁特8月4日晚发生两起剧烈爆炸事故，造成至少100人死亡，4000人受伤。

The blasts rocked the Port of Beirut at around 6:10pm local time, shaking buildings all over the city.

当地时间8月4日18时10分左右，贝鲁特市港口区发生巨大爆炸，整座城市的建筑都在震动。

The number of casualties was expected to rise as the search and counting continued.

随着搜救和清点工作的展开，死亡人数还可能上升。



The causes of the blasts remained unknown, but Lebanese Interior Minister Mohammad Fahmisaid that the explosive chemicals stored at the Port of Beirut may have caused the explosions.

爆炸原因仍不明确，但黎内政部长法赫米说，爆炸可能是由存放在港口的易爆化学品引起的。

Lebanese Prime Minister Hassan Diab declared Wednesday a national mourning day for thevictims of the explosions.

The Higher Defense Council declared Beirut as an afflicted city, while the Lebanese cabinetannounced a state of emergency in the city for two weeks.
