Neil Diamond (尼尔·戴蒙德)，1941年出生于纽约，纵横歌坛超过40年，拥有全球1亿1千5百万张的唱片销售量，美国最成功的流行歌手和创作人之一。

一直是美国流行音乐界的教父级人物，尤其在抒情类的成就已超越Elton John (艾尔顿·约翰) 和Barbra Streisand (芭芭拉·史翠珊)，几乎无人匹敌。专辑在全球售出天文数字。由于他的犹太人背景，他有“犹太人的猫王”之称。

这首1969年出版的《Sweet Caroline》，常被用在美国很多的体育活动中，当每次唱到“Sweet Caroline”，更是引起全场合唱，气氛热烈。
