Former CCTV anchorman Li Yong died on Oct 25 at age 50 after 17 months ofbattle against cancer, Li's wife said this morning.

今天早上，前央视主持人李咏的妻子表示，李咏在与癌症抗争17个月后，于10月25日去世，享年50岁。

李咏的妻子、电视导演（television director）哈文在微博上写道，“在美国，经过17个月的抗癌治疗（cancer therapy），2018年10月25日凌晨5点20分，永失我爱（lostmy love）…… ”。

李咏1968年5月3日出生于新疆乌鲁木齐自治区（autonomous region），1987年考入中国传媒大学（Communication University of China）。1991年进入中国中央电视台（China Central Television）工作。曾担任记者、主持人（anchorman）、专题片编导（playwright-director）、纪录片解说（narration）等职务。

李咏以风趣（witty）和随和的（easy-going）主持风格得到观众的喜爱，他主持了多档热门游戏类节目和才艺节目（talent shows），包括《幸运52》（Lucky 52）和《非常6+1》（A Special Six-Plus-One），以及脱口秀节目（talk show）《咏乐汇》。

李咏还主持了多届春节晚会（Spring Festival Gala）。
