Experience in e-commerce and online gaming are helping fresh out-of-college applicants score points on the job market, the Yangtze Evening Post reported Sunday.

During a job fair in Nanjing, Jiangsu Province a senior surnamed Xu, impressed tech company not with grades or awards, but in part by touting his vast hours playing a online game.

在南京一场招聘会上，一名姓徐的大四学生给一家高科技公司留下了深刻的印象，但是令人印象深刻的原因并不是他成绩好或者获得过多少奖项，而是他说自己花了很多时间来玩一个网游。

A representative with the tech company said Xu’s dedication shows both passion for and skills in a specific area.

据该公司一名代表表示说，徐同学在网游上的投入和奉献显示他在特定领域里具有激情和技能。

And Xu is not alone. Tingting (pseudonym), a senior at Nanjing Tech University, landed an interview for a digital media position at an e-commerce firm thanks to her years of experience running a Taobao store.

而徐同学的事例并不是个案。南京工业大学大四学生婷婷（化名）长期经营着一家淘宝网店，凭此经验她获得了一家电子商务公司一个数字媒体职务的面试机会。

Emphasizing special interests or experiences is very helpful in finding a job, explains Jiang Wenrui, VP from Jiangsu Better Human Resources Group.

江苏百得人力资源有限公司副总蒋文瑞（音）解释说道，找工作的时候强调自己具有特殊的兴趣或者经验是非常有帮助的。

However, Jiang advises that listing special interests should be done with caution and be closely related to the target job.

然而蒋文瑞建议说，列出自己特殊兴趣的时候应该谨慎行事、并且所列出的兴趣应该和目标工作密切相关。
