这两天，不少人的微信朋友圈都被“主要看气质”刷屏，朋友圈也成了“气质图”大战。

王心凌11月25日发的一张新专辑中有一张配图是绿色背景凸显古堡风，但手里拿着汉堡大口要吃。

网友表示，这种风格简直脑洞大开。随后王心凌回复说：主要看气质。。。

于是该“金句”迅速在网络发酵。

你知道“气质”要怎么翻译成英文吗？

“disposition”（性情），“character”（个性），“nature”（本性）"air"（气氛）......

这些词都可以在特定语境下形容“气质”。

如果形容一位女士有格调、有品位，可以用“class”：



►Be a girl with a mind, a woman with attitude and a lady with class.要做一个有思想的女孩，有态度的女人，有品位的女士。

如果形容一位男士英俊潇洒、温文尔雅，英文可以用“debonair”：



►He looked debonair and at ease.他看上去温文儒雅，怡然自得。

如果形容一个人有魅力、有吸引人的特质，也可以用“charisma”：

►Eminem has charisma.阿姆很有人气魅力。

如果要描述一个人性格、个性方面的气质特点，还可以用“temperament”:

如果是形容一个人的气场、特质，英文中有一个词“aura”，

这个词的英文解释是：

"Aura" is the ever-changing flow of life energy around one's body.

指整个人的气场、精气神，有点像中文里的“气”。

其实，”气质“这个词在英文中并没有一个与其完全对应的词汇。

2008年，台湾一位英语教授蘇席瑤在Journal of Sociolinguistics上发表了一篇文章《What does it mean to be a girl with qizhi?- Refinement, gender and language ideologies in contemporary Taiwan》

作者对“气质”一词做了如下英文解释。

The interviews consistently and systematically revealed the use of a term, qizhi – roughly equivalent to ‘refined disposition.’qizhi is often used to describe, evaluate, and further regulate women's ways of speaking, although its use is not gender exclusive.
