When I was five years old, my cousin Tiffany and I found a lighter.

当我五岁时，我和表姐蒂芬妮找到一个打火机，

We were playing with it in the bathroom when the toilet paper caught on fire.

我们拿着打火机在浴室里头玩，结果卫生纸突然着火，

We couldn't get out of the bathroom and we were scared.

我们出不去浴室，很害怕。

Tiffany managed to escape from the window but I was trapped inside.

蒂芬妮从窗户逃出去，可是我还困在里头，

I passed out and woke up as my older brother was pulling me from the blazing fire in the bathroom.

我昏了过去，醒来时看到我哥哥将我从浴室的熊熊火势中拖了出来。

Both my cousin's body and mine were coverd with burns.

我和表姐的身体上都有灼伤，

It took many painful months for my body to heal but I got through it.

我痛了好几个月身体才痊愈，不过我还是熬了过来。

I remeber the staff at the children's hospital being terrific and very helpful with my family.

我还记得儿童医院的员工很好且帮了我家人许多忙，

They taught us how to deal with the trauma and taught me that my life will go on as normal.

他们教导我们如何面对伤痛，并告诉我，我的生活会一如往常继续下去。

It was their encouragement and support that give me the confidence to live my life as a normal girl.

多亏他们的鼓励和支持，让我有信心像是正常女孩般过生活，

My body may look deformed to others but I don't even notice it anymore. it is just a part of who I am.

对别人来说，我的身体看起来也许很丑，不过我再也不在乎，这就是我。
