苹果建议中国消费者使用标配充电器

Apple Inc. has issued a safety reminder to customers in China following two reports that linked cases of electric shock to third-party iPhone chargers.

在发生两起第三方生产的iPhone充电器引发电击的事件之后,苹果(Apple Inc.)向中国消费者发布了安全提醒。

In a statement on its China website, Apple offered customers a guide to identifying authentic phone chargers and encouraged its customers in the country to use only the chargers and power cables approved by the company.

苹果在其中国网站上发布一份声明,为消费者提供原装电源适配器辨别指南,并建议消费者使用标配的电源适配器和连接线。

“Our customers’ safety is very important to us and we have carefully designed all Apple products to meet government safety standards. We recommend our customers only purchase Apple products from Apple or authorized Apple resellers,” the company’s statement in Chinese said.

该公司在这份中文声明说,苹果始终把用户的安全放在首位,因此我们的所有产品都经过严格的安全性与可靠性测试,并在设计上符合全球各地的政府安全标准。声明还建议消费者从苹果及苹果授权经销商处购买适配器和连接线。

According to a local media report posted to China’s state-run Xinhua news site, a man went into a coma last week after he was shocked on July 8 while using an iPhone plugged into a counterfeit charger.

据新华社网站刊登的一篇地方媒体报道,7月8日一名男子在给iPhone充电时遭电击,他使用的是非原装充电器,上周他仍在昏迷中。

Responding to the incident last week, Apple said: “It was with great sadness we learned through press reports that a Beijing customer was injured while using a “knockoff” or counterfeit charger and we are looking into this further.”

上周苹果在回应此事时说,很遗憾通过媒体得知北京一位消费者在使用非原装电源适配器时受伤,我们正在进一步调查此事。

That follows Apple’s statement last week that it was looking into a Xinhua report that a woman died in northwestern China after being electrocuted when she answered a call while her iPhone was charging. Local authorities also said they were looking into the case. Apple said it would cooperate with the authorities.

此前苹果在上周还曾发布声明称,正在调查新华社报道的中国西北一位女士在使用正在充电的iPhone接听电话时触电致死一事。当地有关部门也说,他们正在调查此案。苹果说,将全力与有关机关配合。

Apple has been quick to respond to the two incidents, both of which were caused by non-Apple products an indication of the company’s renewed public relations efforts in China, where earlier this year the company became the focus of a campaign by state media criticizing its warranty policies. In April, Chief Executive Tim Cook apologized to customers in the country after the criticism.

苹果对这两起由非苹果原装产品导致的事件都作出了迅速的反应,体现出该公司在中国重建公共关系的努力。今年早些时候苹果的保修政策一度受到中国国有媒体的抨击。苹果首席执行长库克(Tim Cook)随后在4月份向中国消费者致歉。
