Daily Show host Jon Stewart compares Gordon Brown to Britain's Got Talent runner-up Susan Boyle.
Gordon Brown's profile in America was given an unlikely boost when he was transformed into Susan Boyle on The Daily Show.
The Prime Minister bore a striking resemblance to the Britain's Got Talent runner-up in a montage made up for the popular comedy current affairs programme showing him clad as the singer.
Wearing a brown top and a string of beige beads, he had Miss Boyle's hair superimposed over his own to complete the picture.
The host, Jon Stewart, feigned shock at the resemblance between the Prime Minister and his fellow Scot.
Comedians in Britain have already drawn comparisons between Miss Boyle's down-to-Earth look and the premier's own unvarnished style.
But the joke could prove to benefit Mr Brown.
Although he was recently invited to address a joint session of both houses of Congress on the global economic crisis, he is generally considered to be less well known in America than his predecessor, Tony Blair.
Miss Boyle is already a household name in the country after shooting to fame overnight when clips of her first Britain's Got Talent appearance became a YouTube sensation.
She has since appeared by satellite on many of the major US chat shows.
Mr Brown is a fan of Miss Boyle's music and telephoned both Simon Cowell and Piers Morgan to check on her health after hearing that she was being treated for exhaustion following the talent contest's final.
