Do you know the difference between "character" and "characterize" as verbs? What is the difference? I need to know soon. Also I want some examples about them as verbs.

character is always used as noun. and it means the mental and moral qualities distinctive to an individual ,emphasizing difference from others including subjective and objective expression.

characterize is always used as verb.and it means describe the distinctive nature or features of things, seems more objectively.

eg.The historian characterized the period as the decade of revolution.(objective)

The island is full of character.(subjective & objective)

upstairs is good enough.

just to add a word I encounter a lot: characterization. it is a noun, meaning the action of characterize sth. When a chemist successfully makes a new compound/chemical, he/she usually characterize it by testing it for its properties, melting point, crystal structure, etc.
