If you want to remember the information in this article, take a nap.



New research conducted by brain researcher Avi Karni of the University of Haifa in Israel explores the possibility that naps help lock in sometimes fleeting long-term memories. A 90-minute daytime snooze might help the most, the study finds.



"We still don't know the exact mechanism of the memory process that occurs during sleep, but the results of this research suggest it is possible to speed up memory consolidation," Karni said.



Long-term memory refers to memories that stay with us for years, such as "what" memories — a car accident that happened yesterday — or "how to" memories, such as one's learned ability to play the drums.

I have no idea whether a nap can consilidate the memory. What I can assure is that taking a nap is helpful to recover the energy. If you are tired and just take a nap. After you are awake, you will feel very comfortable.

I agree with it . every noon I must take a nap , or i can't insist to work in the afternoon . After the nap ,maybe only for half an hour , I will be active . I can go on working comfortably and efficiently .

i think it necessary to take a nap in the noon,but the time shouldn't be too long .Just 30~40 minutes is enough.i don't know whether the nap can consolidate the memory.but one thing is certain:if not ,we don't have enough energy in the afternoon's study.

yeah, no scientific evidence prove the inference. we havenot had the clear clue of mechanisim of memory process yet. however, one undoubetly saying,which i have to emphasize is that taking nap in noon do has positive impact on enegetic recovering.

i got used to take a nap in noon, people in the southern of part of china usually get started to work at 2:30 pm. unluckly, when i come to work in the north,people here usually start to work 1:30 pm,even 1 am in some advanced city as bejing. i still dont adapt the schedule in beijing untill now.because i cant get enough relaxion and rest.

In fact,taking a nap is medically superior in almost every way to the use of caffeine in fighting fatigue

For obvious reasons, when a person is trying to learn something, he or she can learn better if he or she had a clearer mind which often is the result of having enough sleep.A nap can definitely help to pass the afternoon with a clearer mind.That goes without saying.

However, personally, I can't take a nap.If I did, I would most likely get a migraine in the afternoon.On top of that, I wouldn't be able to fall asleep easily at night when the time comes for me to go to bed at a normal time.

Basically, I think it does help with the process of learning; thus, it does help with memory.But this just doesn apply to me...
