Paddy: Do you know there will be a general election soon in the UK?

Jim: Yes, who do you think will win it - Labour, Conservatives or the Liberal Democrats?

Paddy: I think it will be a hung parliament．

Jim: What’s a hung parliament?

Paddy: That’s when no one part gets an overall majority. So there can be no governing party.

Paddy: The three parties have to agree on who will be the leader, this means they have to make deals with each other.

Jim: What happens if they don’t agree?

Paddy: Then the Queen has the power to call another election so the people decide again until one party gets a majority.

Jim: Wow, that sounds serious.

Paddy: It is. It has only happened a few times in history.
