OTT＝over the top  

over 在..之上，the top最高点，连起来是超过了最高点。

牛津词典对“over the top”是这样定义的：too extreme and not suitable, demanding[diˈmɑ:nd]  too much attention or effort. 意思就是“要求太多，过头了，太夸大”。

外国人在社交聊天中经常输入的OTT也就是在表达：你太夸张了！

例子

The special effects are a bit over the top but I enjoyed it.

特效有点夸张，但是我喜欢。

Sometimes her way of expressing it can be a little over the top.

“a bit much”多用于某种数量超过一定正常的量，东西或事情过多而显得夸张。

例子

That's outrageous.

这真的是不可思议。

adi. 反常的；令人惊讶的

outrageous 常形容一些违背常规到行为，而让人觉得反常和夸张到不可思议，难以置信。

例子

She says the most outrageous things sometimes.

她有时候尽说些耸人听闻的事。

It's outrageous, and we won't stand for it any more.

That's insane [ɪnˈsen] !

太棒了！

不同于上面的四种表达，“That's insane.”一般是遇到或听到一件非常棒的事情，而觉得"太好了；太夸张了"。

例子

小鱼: I've got two tickets for Pikachu's concert here.

我得到了两张皮卡丘演唱会的门票。

乌龟: Wow, that's insane!

哇，太好了！
