Back out

意思是“退出、反悔、收回承诺”。

用来表达原本答应了要做某件事，

但在最后一刻改变了主意，不做了。



这个词的重点不是“害怕”，

而是“违约”。

就是答应好的事情，没有做到。

Tom said he would help with the school cleanup, but he backed out at the last minute.

汤姆说他会帮忙参加学校大扫除，但最后一刻反悔了。

He backed out of the deal because he found a better offer.

他退出了这笔交易，因为找到了更好的报价。

They agreed to help, but later backed out without giving a reason.

他们原本同意帮忙，但后来没给理由就退出了。



可以使用的场景：

答应参加活动又不去：

Lucy backed out of the birthday party at the last minute.

露西在最后一刻反悔不去生日派对了。

小组作业中途退出：

We were counting on him, but he backed out of the science fair team.

我们本来指望着他，但他退出了科学展小组。

和好朋友强调不要失约：

You promised to play with me after school. Please don’t back out！

你答应放学后跟我一起玩的。请别反悔！

如果想表达自己不想反悔的决心

可以这样说：

I said I would do it, and I won’t back out.

我说了我会做，我就不会反悔。

日常生活中，我们要说话算话哦

答应了的事情，最好不要back out
