近日，中国科学家利用蜗牛粘液研制出一种天然生物粘合剂，可用于治疗创伤和慢性伤口。

Chinese scientists have developed a natural biological adhesive from snail mucus to heal traumatic injuries and chronic wounds.

中国科学院昆明植物研究所科研人员从白玉蜗牛粘液中发现一种天然的可用于伤口修复的多糖基生物粘合剂。1月24日，相关研究成果在线发表在《自然-通讯》（Nature Communications）上。



每年有数以亿计的人遭受皮肤组织损伤，包括意外损伤、外科损伤、慢性溃疡等，严重者会导致截肢甚至威胁生命。目前，临床上广泛应用的组织粘合剂主要是化学合成的氰基丙烯酸酯类和纤维蛋白胶类。

其中，氰基丙烯酸酯类粘合剂具有很强的粘附性能，但是存在降解缓慢、毒副作用等缺点；纤维蛋白粘合剂具有很好的生物组织相容性，但粘附性较弱、应用范围受限。

2000多年前，陆地蜗牛及其黏液被用于治疗与烧伤、脓肿和伤口相关的疼痛。

受到古老疗法的启发，中国科学院昆明植物研究所的研究人员从蜗牛分泌物中鉴定出一种天然生物粘合剂。

Inspired by the age-old therapy, researchers at the Kunming Institute of Botany under the Chinese Academy of Sciences identified a natural biological adhesive from snail secretion.

经过动物实验，研究人员发现，水凝胶有效地加速了健康以及患糖尿病雄性大鼠全层皮肤伤口的愈合。

The hydrogel effectively accelerates the healing of full-thickness skin wounds in both healthy and diabetic male rats.

此外，它也可以缓解慢性伤口处的炎症反应，并显著改善再生。

Also, it can alleviate inflammation in chronic wounds and significantly improve regeneration, according to the study.

该研究结果对新一代生物医用粘合剂的开发具有一定的启发意义，亦为普通皮肤伤口以及临床难治愈的糖尿病足溃疡等皮肤疾病的治疗提供了一种新思路。

The findings "provide theoretical and material insights" into developing next-generation bio-inspired tissue adhesives and bioengineered scaffold designs, said the researchers.
