Japanese electronics retail chain Laox said onTuesday it was shutting down half of its 24 stores asa prolonged coronavirus outbreak keeps awaytourists, a major customer base.

日本电子零售连锁企业乐购仕7月28日表示，由于新冠病毒疫情持续导致游客减少，将关闭全国24家门店中的12家。游客是乐购仕的主要消费群体。

Laox duty-free stores had been popular withChinese and South Korean shoppers looking forJapanese appliances such as rice cookers and electric toilet seats.

乐购仕免税店曾经颇受中国和韩国消费者的欢迎，他们喜欢在这里购买电饭煲、电动马桶座等日本电器。



Inbound tourist spending accounted for around one-third of its revenue.
