Good afternoon, everyone!

I’m so glad to meet all of you here. On my way here my mother asked me what kind of present I would like to have because tomorrow is my birthday. I was at a loss what to say, not because I really had no idea what I wanted, but because I was clear that my heartfelt wishes would be a kind of hurt for my mother. Today, standing here, I would like to make use of this precious chance to ask all the parents present this question for the children: Do you really know what’s the best present for your child?

         The best present for us is not simply a cute doll or a beautiful skirt, which can only keep us happy for a little while. The best present we really appreciate is the time we could spend chatting freely with our friends and playing happily outside. The best present we really need is the freedom to decide what kind of activities to go to and what hobbies to develop. Please don’t push us so hard by sending us to all kinds of classes or always comparing us with other children. Helping us get to know what is right and what is wrong and helping us to build our confidence and encouragement facing difficulties will be the best present for us.
