A new official "Taste Xinjiang" promotional account has been launched following the reactivation of He Jiaolong's personal account after a 100-day hiatus
He, a government official-cum-social media influencer based in Northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region, died on Jan 14 following a severe head injury after falling from a horse while filming a work-related program.
In a statement, Xinjiang's agricultural product brand development and marketing service center expressed gratitude for the public's long-standing support and said the new account would continue promoting Xinjiang's agricultural products and brands.
对于账号的此次更新,评论区中,不少网友表示,希望能保留账号,以此纪念贺娇龙的奉献。
也有网友表示,希望后来者能够守护好贺娇龙的心血。
The update drew mixed reactions online, with some urging that the original account be preserved as a tribute, while others calling on the new team to carry forward its legacy.
The new account is officially designated by the regional department of agriculture and rural affairs and operates as a public welfare platform with zero commission and no advertising, promoting Xinjiang's agricultural products via short videos and livestreams.
It has posted six videos so far. The host, Cai Yirui, introduced herself as a postgraduate from Tsinghua University and a young agricultural practitioner.
