Not Very Musical

On a hot evening, my son was not feeling very well and kept on crying. I took him in my arms, went out of the flat I lived in and tried to calm him down. I wandered along a street. Suddenly, some low music floated gently into my ears. I walked towards the music.

A crowd of people was gathering at the gate of a shop, enjoying the cool air and listening to someone singing Karaoke. Offering two yuan, a young man went up to show himself. The crowd stayed silent until he started singing. All the people, including myself, were eager to know what song he was singing. Next, chuckling was heard from the people around. It turned out that the young man sang out of tone. People could not restrain their laughter and burst out laughing at last. However, the young man was so absorbed in the song that he was not aware of others' reaction at all. The moment his song ended, the boss of the shop walked towards the man and then said, “One more song is free of charge for you, if you like.”

What is Karaoke? Enjoy yourself; enjoy your song. Obviously, the man was playing Karaoke!
