Frenchman and his Watch

   A Frenchman had arrived at a small Italian town and was staying with his wife at the best hotel there. One night he went out for a walk alone . It was late and the small street was very dark and lonely .Suddenly he heard footsteps behind him . He turned his head and saw an Italianman quickly walk past him .The man was mearly out of sight when the Frenchman suddenly found his watch was gone .He thought that it was the Italian who had taken his watch.he decided to follow him and force him to return the watch.
    Soon the Frenchman caught up with the Italian .They didn't understand even a word of each other's lauguage.The Frenchman threatened the Italian with signs and pointed to the watch.The Italian thought that the Frenchman was demanding his own watch .The Italian , in the end ,give up his watch tothe Frenchman.
    When he returned to the hotel ,the Frenchman tolo his wife what had happened .He was greatly wurprised when his wife pointed to the table .On the table was placed his watch .it was not until now that he realized that by mistake he had robbed the Italian of his watch.
