这三个词都可以笼统地翻译成“问题”，于是很多同学都傻傻分不清。

它们意思相近，但又有些细微差别。

下面，我们就来仔细看看每个词的意义及用法。

词义辨析

Problem

Problem这个词经常跟solution（解决方法）联系在一起。



▷A problem is something negative that needs to be solved.

一个problem是需要被解决的负面事物。

所以，说某个问题是problem时，就暗指了这个问题最终应该有一个solution。

发生一些糟糕的事情（bad things）不能叫“problem”，因为这些事情无法解决（unsolvable）。

比如说，某人的腿被截肢了，你不能说他的腿是个problem，因为腿没了是无法挽救的事实。

但是，想办法怎样用一条腿生活则是一个problem（figuring out how to live with one leg is a problem）。

Trouble

Trouble一词与solutions的联系则少一些。

它通常用来表达糟糕的事情发生时产生的负面情绪（negative feelings），所以我们也经常将其翻译成“麻烦”。

Issue

Issue则是更复杂的问题，它总是伴随着争议（controversy）和艰难的决定（difficult decisions）。

它除了有和problem、trouble类似的用法，表示一个问题，还有更多的含义。

它可以是人们谈论或者争论的一个topic（话题）。例如，社会问题（social issues）和政治问题（political issues）。

Problem

相对于trouble和issue，problem在现实生活中的使用频率更高一些，你总是会遇到各种各样需要处理的问题。

▌用have搭配problem，You "have" problems

▷Sorry, I have a problem with my phone.

对不起，我手机有点问题。

▌用there be的句型，"There are" problems "with" things

▷There's a problem with the Internet connection.

网络连接出现了问题。

▷Is there a problem with it?

有什么问题吗？

▌谁制造的问题，就可以说是谁的问题，something is "your problem", "their problem", etc.

▷That's not my problem.

这不是我的问题。

当你对某人生气的时候，就可以说：

▷ "What's your problem?"

“你是怎么回事啊？”

▌problem还可以表示数学课本或考试中的题目（ questions in math textbooksand tests）。

Trouble

▌ 常用搭配："be in trouble" ，"get in trouble"



▷I used to get in trouble as a teenager for sneaking out of the house at night.

我小的时候，老因为晚上偷偷溜出家而倒霉。

▌trouble作“问题、麻烦”解时为不可数名词，不能用冠词“a” 或者 “the”修饰，但你可以说“some trouble”

▷I've had similar trouble with this car before.

之前，我用这部车也有过类似的毛病。

▌产生麻烦，用cause，things can "cause trouble"

▷I'm so sorry to cause so much trouble for you guys.

给你们造成的麻烦，我感到很抱歉。

▌你可以说a person "is trouble"，某个人是个麻烦，意思是他很危险，会给他人带来麻烦（cause trouble for other people）。

▷That boy is trouble.

那个男孩是个麻烦。

▌你可以在trouble后面加动名词（have trouble __ing）

▷If you have trouble seeing it, feel free to move closer.

如果你看不清，可以靠近点。

▷But I still have trouble expressing myself.

但我还是表达不清楚我的意思。

Problems也可以这么用，但是非常少见。

▌当你礼貌地主动帮助别人时，可以说"It's no trouble" （不麻烦，没问题）。

A: I can drive Jared to school.

B: Really? Are you sure?

真的吗？你真的可以吗？

A: Yeah, it's no trouble.

Issue

▌Issue听起来比problem更柔和，可以用来谈论工作中的问题（problems at work）



▷This issue keeps coming up again and again.

这个问题一直反复出现。

▷I just spoke with Karen. I think we might have an issue.

我刚跟克伦聊过，我觉得我们之间有点问题。

▷If there are any issues that require immediate attention, I can be reached on my mobile at 646-469-XXXX.

▌如果你说一个人“has issues”，通常指他们心理上或者情感上不健康（mentally or emotionally unhealty）。他们可能需要心理医生（psychiatrist）的帮助。

▷You have serious issues.

你有很严重的问题（心理上的）。

▷Trust issues are one of the leading causes of breakups.

信任危机是人们分手的最主要的原因之一。

▌表达你不喜欢或不同意某事，可以用词组“have an issue with ___”

▷I don't have an issue with you talking to other guys. What I do have an issue with is you flirting with them.

你跟别的男人聊天我可以接受，我不能接受的是你跟他们调情。

“Problem”也可以这么用。

▌在探讨一个问题时，你可以说“the issue is ___”来表示这个问题最严重的部分。

▷The issue is the cost.

最重要的问题是成本。
