自从7月3日C罗先后在facebook和twitter上透露自己成为父亲之后，有关这个“神秘”小男孩的猜测就从来没有间断过。C罗为儿子取名克里斯蒂亚诺-罗纳尔多-多斯桑托斯，现在唯一肯定的是，小男孩的的确确是C罗的亲生儿子。疑问在与他的身世，有两种说法，葡萄牙媒体坚持认为C罗是在美国靠代孕才有了儿子，英国媒体则提出质疑，他们认为以C罗的性取向不可能是像美国和葡萄牙媒体所说的同性恋，所以葡萄牙球星模仿歌王里奇-马丁代孕生子的解释不通。《星期日镜报》更是通过调查证明了这一结论：C罗是去年在美国发生一夜情之后不可思议地“中标”，而孩子母亲的身份是个穷困潦倒的酒吧女侍应生。 据《星期日镜报》透露，C罗去年夏天在美国度假，在一次吃饭的过程中，C罗对女侍应生开门见山地讲道：“我，你，做爱。”女侍应生起初不明所以，C罗随即改口：“我，你，接吻”。待明了来意，这名女招待随C罗前往宾馆有了一夜情，巧合的是也因此而怀孕，C罗收获了儿子更为这一夜春宵支付了高达1200万欧元的“封口费”。

无论是女侍应生还是C罗都没有对怀孕做好心理准备，前者在得知自己身怀六甲之后，通过经纪人门德斯联系到了C罗。门德斯将此事告知C罗和他的母亲多洛雷斯以及两个姐姐艾尔玛和卡蒂娅。C罗的家庭信奉天主教，对生孩子的事非常重视，C罗同意孩子出生就进行DNA鉴定，一旦证明是自己的孩子会承担起抚养权，他的一位好友同时证实：“在世界杯期间，C罗得知了最后的DNA鉴定。”就像小男孩母亲所说的那样，孩子属于C罗。

C罗的母亲和两位姐姐动身前往美国办理了接收孩子的程序。葡萄牙人对突然成为人父的感受是复杂的，一方面他还没有做好结婚、生子的准备，孩子的母亲更与其国际巨星的地位不符，但另一方面他又对成为父亲感到兴奋和开心。为了能让孩子的母亲放弃抚养权，C罗最终为那个穷困的女侍应生支付了1200万欧元的封口费。

按照《星期日镜报》的报道，事件至此已经水落石出。小男孩在美国出生，被C罗一家接回葡萄牙抚养，拥有双重国籍。不过，由于葡萄牙的法律不允许生母不认儿子，所以在C罗与小孩生母的“协议”上也有这么一条：在孩子18岁之前，不能主动承认是孩子的生母。孩子过了18岁，如果孩子愿意可以要求母亲认他。也许只有等到那时，她究竟是女侍应生或者其它什么身份才能揭开谜底。

They are a close-knit, traditional Roman Catholic family and the minute paternity was established there was absolutely no doubt that Ronni would be doing the right thing. There was simply no question of him walking away. Even if he had wanted to, Dolores just would not have entertained it for one moment. This is her grandchild and there was only one option for the child’s upbringing – with her and her daughters in Portugal.”

Cristiano gave the woman $15.1 million for exclusive guardianship and for her silence. But there was another reason.His mother did not want the mother of her grandchild living in poverty. “Dolores’s view is that if the child eventually decides to make contact with the mother, it is important she is living an affluent lifestyle. It would offend Dolores for the child to find his mother living in poverty. It’s a huge amount of money, but Ronni insists it’s not a big deal because he’s worth £100million and he’s got the best part of his career ahead of him still.”
