On July 29, Taiwanese actor Show Lo Chia-kai appeared at the New Taipei District Court for his trial with a dejected look. Faced with inquiries, he remained silent with his hands folded in a humble gesture. During the court hearing, he fully pleaded guilty to charges of military service fraud and confessed to his illegal conduct years ago. According to his statement, in 2016, he paid 150,000 New Taiwan Dollars through fellow actor Hsieh Kun-ta to Chen Chih-ming, leader of a fraudulent military service syndicate, to forge hypertension medical records. The falsified documents allowed him to switch from regular military service to alternative service. After serving merely five months, he secured an early discharge on the grounds that his wife Alyssa Chia was pregnant with their third child. In hope of receiving leniency, he voluntarily implicated other involved entertainers.

During the trial, Show Lo attempted to obtain a lighter sentence. He claimed that his illegal act stemmed from family reasons rather than a deliberate attempt to evade military service, and submitted records of charitable donations during his service to request a sentence of less than six months with probation. His request was rejected by the prosecution, which firmly opposed probation and sought a two-year-and-eight-month prison term. No verdict was announced in court. After the hearing, surrounded by media reporters again, he apologized with folded hands, stating that he had been reflecting sincerely and would respect all judicial outcomes.

庭审现场，修杰楷极力争取轻判，辩解自身行为源于家庭因素，并非刻意逃避兵役，并提交服役期间的公益捐款记录，请求法院判处六个月以下徒刑并适用缓刑。但其诉求未被采纳，检方态度坚决，拒绝缓刑，求刑有期徒刑两年八个月，案件暂未当庭宣判。庭审结束后，修杰楷再度被媒体围堵，依旧以合十姿态致歉，坦言自己正在深刻反省，尊重司法一切结果。
