近日,哈尔滨工业大学为187对新人举办集体婚礼。
学校特意为新人们准备了由学校科研团队自主研制的1克拉“真心”钻石制作成的钻戒,为婚礼赋予了哈工大独有的硬核浪漫。
Harbin Institute of Technology (HIT) has gifted 187 newlywed couples one-carat diamond rings made from laboratory-grown diamonds developed by its own research team, adding a distinctive scientific touch to their collective wedding ceremony.
哈工大航天学院红外薄膜与晶体团队负责人朱嘉琦教授介绍,自然界中,一颗天然钻石的形成需要在地下深处历经上亿年的高温高压淬炼,而这颗来自哈工大实验室的高品质钻石,从“种子”到成品只需要几天。
According to Zhu Jiaqi, head of a crystal research team at HIT's School of Astronautics, while natural diamonds take hundreds of millions of years to form, the university's high-quality diamonds can be grown from a seed crystal in just a few days.

实验室里“种”钻石的过程,如同微米级的积木搭建。科研人员将甲烷与氢气混合后通入反应腔,这两种气体充当“营养液”。在微波等离子体的激发下,气体分子解离为活性原子基团,碳原子开始在“种晶”表面一层一层有序排列。耐心等待,一颗纯净的金刚石单晶便悄然“长成”。经过切割→打磨→镶嵌,这些晶体最终成为戒指上的璀璨焦点。
Using methane and hydrogen in a microwave plasma process, researchers guide carbon atoms to arrange themselves layer by layer, forming pure single-crystal diamonds. After being cut, polished and set, the crystals are transformed into sparkling gemstones.

这枚钻石具有极高的硬度和化学稳定性,相关技术获得了国家技术发明二等奖、黑龙江省技术发明一等奖等多个国内外奖项。

相较于自然生成的金刚石,哈工大团队研制的金刚石颗粒更大、品类也更加齐全。它可以做成金刚石电池,也可以用于量子传感,还能解决高功率芯片的散热问题,在各个领域都有广阔的应用前景。
Compared with naturally occurring diamonds, the materials developed by the HIT team can be produced in larger sizes and a wider range of specifications. Beyond jewelry, the diamonds have potential applications in areas such as quantum sensing and thermal management for high-power chips.

据了解,自2013年首届哈工大博士生集体婚礼举办以来,已有803对新人在母校、师长与亲友的共同见证下缔结良缘。
学校为新人们送上专属“硬核礼物”,就是希望将其打造为承载科研浪漫、彰显技术自立的特殊信物,寄语新人将“小家的温度”转化为“报国的底气”。
Since launching its first collective wedding ceremony in 2013, HIT has witnessed the unions of 803 couples. The university said the rings are intended to symbolize scientific innovation and technological self-reliance, while conveying its best wishes for the newlyweds to build happy families and contribute to the nation's development and prosperity.
