bittersweet 确实有tasting both bitter and sweet “苦中带甜的”这个意思，

不过更多还是指containing a mixture of sadness and happiness，

苦中有乐的，苦乐参半的。

举个例子

She said the end of her high school,

volleyball career was bittersweet.

她说高中排球生涯的结束是苦乐参半的。

The liqueur has a delicate and pleasant bittersweet，

taste and is often mixed with soda water and ice.

利口酒有一种微妙而愉悦的苦甜味，

通常与苏打水和冰混合。

                                        01.   sour grapes      

If you describe someone's behaviour or opinion as sour grapes,

you mean that that person is angry ,

because they have not got or achieved something that they wanted.

如果你把某人的行为或观点描述为“sour grapes”，

那这个人很生气，因为他们没有得到或实现他们想要的东西。

吃不到葡萄说葡萄酸，看来这种心理全世界通用，

sour grapes就是酸葡萄（指由于得不到而贬低某物）。

举个例子

I don't think it's such a great job - and that's not just sour grapes ，

because I didn't get it.

我认为这份工作不怎么样——我可不是因为吃不着葡萄说葡萄酸。

                                   02.   keep sb sweet     

keep sb sweet 是英式英语，主要在英国使用，

意思是 to try to keep someone satisfied and pleased ，

with you so that you can continue to get what you want，

努力让某人对你满意，这样你就能继续得到你想要的，

也就是“取悦，讨好（某人）。”

举个例子

He made a few concessions to keep the shareholders sweet.

他作了一些让步，以此取悦股东。

                                 03.  the bitter fruits of sth      

the bitter fruits of sth 也就是“苦果”，

the unpleasant result of something，

恶果；不好的结局。

举个例子

The unemployed are tasting the bitter,

fruits of the market economy.

失业人士正承受市场经济的苦果。

                        04.  take sth with a pinch of salt   

在英国说 take sth with a pinch of salt，

在美国说 take sth with a grain of salt，

意思都是一样的，to not completely believe ,

something that you are told,

because you think it is unlikely to be true，

对…半信半疑，对…有所怀疑。

举个例子

You have to take everything she says with a pinch of salt,

because she tends to exaggerate.

你不能完全相信她的话，她总是喜欢夸大其词。
