武汉体育学院教授、博士生导师张德胜向长江云新闻记者表示，郑钦文和潘展乐不能担任中国代表团旗手确实令人遗憾，选谁当旗手，可能会倾向于夺金数量多的运动员，已经收获两块金牌的乒乓球运动员樊振东的希望会比较大。

历届奥运会中国队旗手回顾

从1984年中国参与夏季奥运会至今，早期闭幕式旗手均由“人高马大”的男篮运动员担任，并且开幕式、闭幕式均是同一人。但这一惯例在2004年雅典奥运会期间被刘翔打破，开幕式、闭幕式旗手正式分离，闭幕式旗手中已不再有男篮队员的身影。
