The Chinese people attach great importance to mianzi. There is no corresponding English term for mianzi, but its meaning is somewhere between paying attention to image and honor. In the Chinese language, many derivative words and expressions with mianzi as the root have come into being, and all of them reflect important aspects of Chinese culture. 中国人很看重面子。英文中找不到与“面子”对应的词，但它的意思就介乎于关注形象和名誉之间。在中文中，有很多由“面子”衍生而来的词汇和表达，它们都反映了中国文化至关重要的方面。
