Will you support or oppose if your kids love extra readings?
Some kids like reading. They read at home and at school. Sometimes they even read on the bus. Some kids like reading so much that they bury themselves in books as soon as they arrive home, leaving their homework undone. Some parents worry about their kids' study and forbit them to read books before they finish their homework. However, some kids manage to continue their reading under the table. Some do their homework in a hurry so as to spend more time on reading. But every coin has two sides. Kids who like reading tend to use words more correctly and do better in writing composition. So what shall we deal with it?
It depends what kind of books my kid likes reading. Generally speaking, reading is a good habit that one should develop at an early age. So I will fully support him if the books he reads are good for his mental development and help him accumulate cultural knowledge. What I should do is to supervise him to do it properly and make sure he reads at the right time. I will tell him how important it is to finish his homework first and that too much reading at a time will do harm to his eyes. As to me, a kid who forms a habit of reading will benefit from it all his life.
